Every Young Adult Deserves a Shot at Independence
For over 30 years, The Horizons School has been transforming the lives of young adults with autism and learning disabilities — helping them build the skills, confidence, and community they need to thrive on their own. Your gift makes that possible.
Your Impact by the Numbers
80%+
of Horizons graduates have held paid employment — far above the national average for adults with autism.
35+
years serving young adults with learning disabilities in Birmingham, Alabama since 1991.
100s
of students have built independent lives through our life skills, vocational training, and community programs.
Why Your Support Matters
Did you know that 35% of young adults with autism have never held a job or pursued education after high school? Many families face a cliff when their child turns 18 — school services end, but the need for support does not. The Horizons School bridges that gap, providing a community-based educational program that teaches life skills, job readiness, social skills, and independent living.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of donors like you to keep tuition affordable and provide scholarships to students who could not otherwise attend. Every dollar you give directly supports a student on their path to independence.
