Post-secondary Special Education Teacher โ€” Part- or Full-time Position

Wanted: an enthusiastic educator interested in helping young adults reach their dreams! The Horizons School is seeking a Post-secondary Special Education Teacher who will work as a member of a dynamic team of educators, help young adults prepare for employment and community independence, and share professional experience to guide students in making adult decisions.

Roles and Responsibilities

This is an active 12-month, campus-based teaching position requiring creativity and passion. Responsibilities include assessing student strengths and needs around financial literacy, preparing effective money management instruction, creatively teaching financial literacy skills in an applied community setting, guiding young adults with disabilities toward personal, social, and career goals, responding to the needs of students, faculty, and families, maintaining accurate and confidential records, summarizing student progress, and promoting equity, fair treatment, and positive relationships with students and families.

Qualifications

An earned college degree in education, business/accounting, mathematics, rehabilitation, occupational therapy, human services, social work, or a related field from an accredited institution is required. We’re looking for excellent communication, customer service, and computing skills; one or more years of experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred. This role requires flexibility in work hours and location (some evening work may be required), along with a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
