Why Birmingham?  Great Southern Hospitality! The Horizons School curriculum takes place in the city and Birmingham is big enough to offer many activities and services but not so big as to be intimidating.  Our students learn to navigate a real-life community in a safe, supervised environment.  The school building and residence are located in a quaint downtown neighborhood with all the amenities our students need within close walking distance, such as a grocery store, banks, pharmacies, hardware store, library, restaurants and retail shops.  In addition, our location gives our students easy access to the city’s public transportation system, which enables them to access all parts of the city and surrounding suburbs.
